Gay marriage berths in Nigeria

GAY is homosexual act. A gay person is a homosexual or lesbian.
A homosexual person is a person who is sexually attracted only to people of the same sex as oneself. It could be man to man or woman to woman engaged in amorous relationship.
Gay marriage is the uniting of two same-sex persons legally as a couple (homosexual or lesbian)
Marriage, according to dictionary usuage, is the legal union between a man and woman, as husband and wife.
Marriage, according to natural law, is the coming together of a man and woman, with the consent of both families to become husband and wife.
According to Religion and Divine law, in Genesis 1:27 – 28: “God created man in his own image, he created them male and female.
“God Blessed and said unto them, be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it and have dominion over every living thing upon the earth”.
In Genesis 2:18: “God said it is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him an help mate”.
In Genesis 2:22: “The rib which the Lord God has taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man”.

In Genesis 2:24 – 25: “God said, therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife and were not ashamed”.
Homosexual act goes against natural and divine laws in Nigeria as people engaged in this act may find Nigeria a place unprofitable for them to operate.
Recently in Nigeria, there has been argument on whether to give legal right to gay marriage in the country.
A female human right activist, Dr. Oke Odumakin promoting the issue of gay marriage, argued that there should be a balance between same-sex marriage. In Nigeria, same-sex marriage is not recognised and the society at large frowns at it.
A bill was recently passed by the Nigerian Senate prohibiting same-sex marriage with punishment on people involved in the act.
This bill has brought a lot of argument as it is a two-sided deal. It is a good deal on the side of nature and divine laws, following the man-to-woman relationship.
It is a bad deal on the side of the gays and lesbians, as some people claim it infringes on the right of some people as regard man-to-man or woman-to-woman relationship.
In Nigeria, gay relationship is punishable with death by stoning in states that have Sharia laws and up to 14 years imprisonment throughout the country.
The Nigerian society should not encourage gay relationship or marriage as it is against our culture, values and religious beliefs.
Gay relationship or marriage is morally wrong and unacceptable. If allowed, it will bring a lot of society ills and sex-related diseases.
It is unnatural and evil, we believe in God and there is a natural way God created us to be and live.
In proverb 18:22, God said: “Whoso findeth a wife, findeth a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord”.
A wife is a married woman, when considered in relation to her husband. A wife cannot be identified as a man because she is a woman by nature.A husband is a man to whom a woman is married. Husband and wife are married couple.
I, therefore, commend the Nigeria’s Senate body for passing a bill on the ban for gay marriages in Nigeria, while the bill is waiting for a pass vote from the House of Representatives and will go to the President to officially sign it into law.
